Samba Jackpots Slots
Samba Jackpots is an interesting slot game that may be an acquired taste. There is nothing wrong or bad about this game. It just feels a little rushed. The theme, the symbols, and the music all seem like they were thrown together in an afternoon to try to bring another slot game to the market as fast as possible. That being said, there are a few redeeming qualities that slot players may appreciate.
It Is What It Is
Samba Jackpot tells you everything you need to know about it in the title. The uninventive name spills over into the non-descript dancing theme. The board is opaque, so you have a decent view of the gorgeous background scene. Since Brazil is the birthplace of the Samba, it is likely a Brazilian landscape as you can see a beach full of buildings with large hills in the background and a beautiful sunset reflecting off the water. Unfortunately, it is ruined a little by the jackpot table to the left of the board, which isn’t as see-through as the board itself.
There is no doubt that time and effort were put into these symbols, but there is still something a little underwhelming about them. The symbols that stand out the most are the playing card suit symbols that have a glittery appearance. The other higher-value symbols all come off a bit flat, but they include maracas, drums, masks, beautiful dancers, and a few special symbols. The artwork is much better than many slots you can find online, but there is still something intangible that makes them not feel as exciting. It may be the color scheme or the lack of animation, but the symbols in this game don’t feel as engaging as they do in others.
It is no surprise that a game that is Samba-themed would have Samba music, but it is a small sample on a loop, so while it starts strong, it gets repetitive quickly. The sound effects are pretty standard, which is usually inconsequential, but they add a touch of familiarity to a game that otherwise seems slightly off.
The Features May Change Your Tune
A game like this that seems rushed to the stage is not going to have any extraordinary features, but the ones it has are serviceable. A mask represents the wild symbol, which can stand in for all symbols except for the scatter, which is represented by the game’s logo. There is a second wild that activates randomly when the green dancer is part of a winning line. When this occurs, she becomes an expanding wild that takes up a whole reel, and you get a free re-spin.
You automatically get ten free spins when you land three of the scatter symbols in a single spin. There aren’t any extra features during these spins like many other slot games, but it does increase the frequency of hitting wilds and jackpots during the free spins. Unfortunately, you can’t reactivate the free spins during the free spin bonus.
This is not a progressive jackpot game, but it does have an instant jackpot feature. On the left of the board, there are instant jackpot prizes, which are determined by the number of coin symbols you land. Landing twelve coins in a single spin gets you a healthy 1,250 times your stake.
Mostly Average with a Few Sparks
Samba Jackpots is far from the worst online slot you will find; it just lacks the excitement that you would expect from such a niche slot. It is aesthetically pleasing, but the theme seems rushed. The pictures are nice, but it would have been nicer if they had more detail or animation. There is also a surprising lack of music for a game that is themed after music. Where this game does save some face is with the bonus features that can get you instant jackpots and increase the chances for significant wins. All slot games deserve a chance because you never know which one may match you perfectly, but go into this one with cautious optimism.
